    Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design

Matthew is a leader in the residential landscape architecture revolution fusing nature with high design. At the core of his philosophy is an imperative to repair fragmented natural systems to combat and direct cataclysmic climate change, while embracing the realities of how people gather and live.

Matthew derives great passion from his roots in the verdant, rocky coast of rural Maine. He embraces technology while simultaneously promoting commonsense design and construction.

As Principal of his firm and lecturer at Harvard, Matthew mentors future leaders.

  • Sean Papich

It’s notable that while in Kansas City, he worked with Ochsner Hare & Hare, the oldest active landscape architecture firm in the country. Hare & Hare were contemporaries of the Olmsted Brothers and helped Sean galvanize a strong work ethic and an attitude that anything can be accomplished with an open mind and an unrelenting desire to meet a client’s needs.

In 2003, he established his own firm with that spirit, along with a collective personality that is engaging, pragmatic, and highly collaborative.
